Using state-of-the-art CNC software and equipment, Solid Concepts can quickly machine prototypes in plastic, aluminum, steel, or virtually any other engineering material, directly from your CAD data. CNC prototypes are ideal for situations where physical prototypes are needed for demanding functional tests, or when the physical size of the parts makes other prototyping methods cost prohibitive. CNC rapid prototypes are cost-effective in applications where the material property or size requirements make other prototyping techniques unsuitable.

CNC Master Patterns

The best possible castings start with the best possible master patterns. It's no secret that you can't make a great casting without a great master pattern. While Stereolithography patterns are often selected when time is of the essence, CNC master patterns offer increased accuracy and better design feature definition. We're experts at breaking up complex designs into multiple components that can be reassembled into highly accurate master patterns. Since assembled CNC master patterns can be produced on multiple machining centers at the same time and since the number of set-ups is reduced, the patterns can usually be completed in a fraction of the time that would be required to machine the pattern out of one piece of material. With assembled CNC master patterns, you not only save time, but you also save money as material costs increase dramatically when thicker sheets are required. Accuracy is improved because we will split the geometry in such a way as to eliminate the need for complex setups, and when necessary, we will fabricate fixtures to ensure the components are assembled correctly.
