Solid Concepts is a world leader in supplying fast, accurate, and robust rapid prototypes directly from CAD data. We work with many Fortune 100 manufacturing companies to accelerate the product development process. We don’t just supply rapid prototypes, we helped invent the process. We are committed to making direct digital manufacturing mainstream; this requires continuous process improvements, piece cost reduction, and advanced quality control. We offer a complete technology spectrum: SolidView® Software was created by Solid Concepts to offer sophisticated CAD like abilities at a fraction of the cost. Now you can view CAD, IGES, STEP, Pro/E, Catia files and more with the easy-to-use SolidView 3D viewer. SolidView Lite is a free 3D CAD viewer that allows you to open and view STL files. PolyJet is a newer rapid prototyping technology that provides high precision 3D printing. The layer additive process is suitable for excellent appearance models and patterns for advanced urethane castings. SLA or Stereolithography produces accurate models from a photopolymer. The resulting prototypes are suitable for form, fit and function testing as well as casting patterns for metal (QuickCast investment casting patterns – learn more about the advantages of QuickCast on our QuickCast page) and advanced urethane castings (QuantumCast). SLS, Selective Laser Sintering, provides accurate models from sintered nylon powder. The resulting pieces are suitable for either rapid prototypes or for direct digital manufactured parts. They can be used for form, fit and function testing as well as limited run production. This technology is ideally suited for DDM (Direct Digital Manufacturing) because of the robust physical properties of the base materials, and is often used for aerospace applications. QuantumCast™ Advanced Formula Polymers are cast in a proprietary multi-step rapid prototyping technology that utilizes precisely controlled vacuum, temperature and pressure. This process offers mechanical properties that closely resemble engineered plastics to provide you with very realistic prototype parts. These are void-free, durable, color-matched pieces produced quickly with out hard tooling. CNC machining is a conventional material removal technology that produces very accurate models from a wide variety of popular materials. CNC prototypes are suitable for robust first articles and master CNC patterns for QuantumCast™. Tooling provided by Solid Concepts offers proven U.S. based Project Management along with China pricing. Injection Molding from Solid Concepts provides the perfect companion to our tooling operation. Bring your project through to completion with the company that made your first prototype part – Solid Concepts is your partner in product development! |
